Playground Sand by WLS is tested and certified to exceed AS4422:1996 Playground Surfacing, for critical fall heights of up to 3m when used at a minimum depth of 340mm with normal playground use and 410mm with heavy playground use.
This standard is designed to minimise the risk of brain injury due to falls from height by ensuring only materials with a cushioning effect are used in playgrounds and to the required depth. Due to its light colour and fine, well graded, particles, this sand is also used extensively in mortar with our White Cement to create bright white mortar joints and vibrant coloured mortar. The Playground Sand is also available in other sizes.
